We have been hardwired to prefer familiar misery.
We stay in dead-end jobs because we know how rainy days look. We stay in stagnant environments since the routine is predictable. We settle for "fine" since the alternative is a vast, open question mark.
We encourage us to step into the unknown as is a deliberate choice to override this evolutionary programming.
We cannot expand our lives while staying entirely inside our comfort zone. The discomfort we feel is a message of growth.
